DOOLIN, Co. Clare,
The seaside village of Doolin in North County Clare has been a favourite destination for thousands of Irish and international tourists for many years, and it is no wonder given the wide range of activities and great atmosphere which can be enjoyed here. Holiday makers are spoiled for choice when it comes to the array of day trips to take in. The majestic Cliffs of Moher and the Aran Islands are only a stone's throw away while the world famous Burren with its many archaeological sites and unique array of flora and fauna is on the door step. Doolin Cave was discovered in the 1950s. Experienced potholers can explore this cave alone and for the less experienced there are many local guides available to take you through the cave.. The famous spa town of Lisdoonvarna is a near neighbour and the world famous golf course at Lahinch can be reached in fifteen minutes by car. There is plenty to keep the more energetic entertained also such as scuba diving, rock climbing, hill walking or mountain biking all of which are available locally.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS
To reach Doolin from the Ennis direction: Follow signposts for Ennistymon,
Lahinch and The Cliffs of Moher. The first village you will pass is
Inagh, home to the Biddy Earley Brewery. Continue on to Ennistymon.
Take the left turn in Ennistymon signposted Lahinch. Before entering
the town of Lahinch take the right turn at the Lahinch Golf Course signposted
for Liscannor. Entering Liscannor and continue on through the village. A short distance further
you will pass over the Cliffs of Moher themselves. Aproximately 5km
on you will see Mac's Petrol station on your right and here
you take the left turn for Doolin. You will pass Ballyvara Guest House
on your right hand side. At the cross roads turn right and aprox 100m
on your right hand side you will find Tír
Gan Ean Country House and Tir Gan Ean Holiday Homes . Ample parking provided at the
rear of the Country House and each Holiday Home has its own
parking space. |
